All-City Orchestra Information
All-City Orchestra is this Tuesday and Wednesday with the concert on Wednesday night at 7:30. This event is hosted at Northeast Middle School.
Participating student need to take their orchestra instrument home with them on Monday and bring it with them to rehearsal on Tuesday. Music will be provided at Northeast for this event.
BASD All-City Middle School Orchestra Concert on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. The concert will take place at Northeast Middle School in the auditorium and will begin at 7:30 PM. The doors open to audience members at 7:00 PM. Tickets for the concert will be available from your orchestra director at a cost of $3.00. Proceeds from ticket sales will help to cover festival expenses.
Students must attend the two scheduled rehearsals prior to the concert. These rehearsals will take place on:
■ Tuesday, February 4, 2025, 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM Northeast Middle School 1170 Fernwood Street (7th grade students will eat lunch in the instrumental music room. Grade 6 & 8 will et at their regularly scheduled time)
■ Wednesday, February 5, 2025, 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM Northeast Middle School 1170 Fernwood Street (7th grade students will eat lunch in the instrumental music room. Grade 6 & 8 will et at their regularly scheduled time)
Each year at the end of the Wednesday rehearsal we hold a social time for the All-City student to mingle. We kindly ask that those who are able donate an individually packaged snack item to feed 5-6 students. We are looking for water, juice, and small snack donations. You can bring your donated item with you to rehearsal on Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
Students must report to Northeast Middle School no later than 7:15 AM on each rehearsal date. Students who eat breakfast at school may get breakfast in the Northeast Middle School cafeteria, between 7:45 and 8:05 AM. Students will be bussed back to their respective schools after the rehearsal. Students are encouraged to bring one (1) snack item to share with All-City students at the end of the last rehearsal. Snack items should be individually wrapped and should serve at least 6 students. Please mark your calendars!
Reporting time for the Wednesday evening concert will be:
■ Strings – 6:45 PM
■ Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion – 7:00 PM
DRESS FOR CONCERT: black bottom & either white or black top. Students may wear ties (non-musical) or bow ties.
Please complete the attached permission slip and return it to your child’s orchestra director no later than January 17, 2025. It is an honor to have your child selected to participate in this district-wide endeavor. We appreciate your encouragement and look forward to seeing you on February 5, 2025.
Tickets for the All-City Orchestra concert are available from your director or at the door on Wednesday, February 5 for $3 each.
